This exhibition brings three of Toronto’s top emerging and contemporary artists to the Kingston Road Village arts scene in celebration of our one year anniversary in this amazing community!Andre Kan is an award winning Toronto artist, with his work gracing the front page of the Toronto Star’s entertainment section just this Spring. His vibrant drip paintings are guided by his interest in architecture and abstract forms.Cortney Stephenson has an active Toronto practice, recently having a solo exhibition at both Soho Lobby Gallery and Project Gallery in Toronto. With her dynamic mixed media work, Stephenson explores the forms of landscape and the graphics of urban design.K. Claire MacDonald is the current artist in residnece at the Harborfront Centre in Toronto. Her work is based on an interdisciplinary approach that seeks to combine her interest in painting with her metalsmithing practice.This exhibition is sponsored by Temple Rock Holdings Inc.—

Melissa Espina explores themes of spontaneity and identity- ” I create abstract paintings simultaneously, to search and embrace a visceral lifestyle. By contrasting themes of chance verses ideas of plan and static, I work towards a path of discovery by understanding the influence of what surrounds us.” -EspinaLaunched in 2014, PH1 Collective brings a collaborative series between Melissa Espina and Digital Film Editor, Pietro Gallo.”Together, we combine the medium of encaustic painting with elements of photography to explore the idea of nostalgia and memory.
